      Mabel Spencer Peterson (Indiana, 1886 - 1953), "Street Scene," possibly depicting Amityville, Long Island, New York, oil on board, signed lower left and inscribed with a dedication on the verso, measures 16 x 20 inches, overall in the frame, 18.50 x 22.50 inches. CONDITION: Good, could use a cleaning. A resident of Floral Park, Long Island, New York, she worked alongside Caroline Bell, Julia Wickham, Whitney Hubbard, Marguerite Hawkins, Clara Howard and other Peconic Bay Impressionists during their painting excursions along the North Fork of Long Island. She exhibited widely, including with The Art League of Nassau County, Allied Artists of America, National Association of Women Painters & Sculptors, New York Water Color Club and the American Water Color Society, Anderson Galleries, and the Brooklyn Society of Painters and Sculptors.
