This stunning oil on canvas showcases the exquisite talent of French painter Edmond Petitjean who first exhibited at the prestigious Paris Salon in 1874. Petitjean became a member of the Salon of French Artists in 1883 and earned numerous accolades, including a first-place medal in 1884. He received numerous awards including a First Class medal from the salon in 1884 and a Second Class medal in 1885; a silver medal from the Exposition Universelle in 1889 and a gold medal in 1900; and he was named a Knight in the Legion of Honor in 1892.
