        (Wolverhampton, 1863 - 1935) Ritratto di ragazza Firmato Geo Phoenix e datato 1909 in basso a sinistra Olio su tela, cm 153X93 Artista dell'età vittoriana ed edoardiana, Phoenix si formò alla Birmingham School of Art, e i registri del 1881 lo definiscono artista. Visse sicuramente a Londra verso la fine del 1880, quando dipinse l'unico ritratto conosciuto dell'artista Henry Mark Anthony. Nel 1889 a Bournemouth iniziò ad esporre e come nome artistico adottò il nome da nubile della madre, Phoenix: i suoi quadri sono solitamente firmati 'Geo Phoenix'. Le sue opere furono esposte alla Royal Academy, alla Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, alla Walker Art Gallery di Liverpool e alla New Gallery. Intorno al 1890 tornò a Wolverhampton e nel 1891 sposò Julia Critchlow (1858-1932). Da allora, visse stabilmente a Wolverhampton, dove mantenne uno studio in Merridale Road e poi in Clarendon Street. La sua specializzazione fu il ritratto e durante la sua carriera realizzò effigi di sindaci e amministratori comunali di Wolverhampton e Bilston, medici e infermieri del South Staffordshire General Hospital (ora al New Cross Hospital), Lord Bishop di Lichfield, Dr Kempthorne, Sir Charles Tertius Mander e la sua famiglia.

        Wolverhampton, 1863 - 1935 Ragazza con libro di favole Firmato 'G Phoenix' e datato 1909 in basso a sinistra Olio su tela, cm 153X91 Artista dell'età vittoriana ed edoardiana, londinese, Phoenix si formò alla Birmingham School of Art, facendosi chiamare il nome da nubile della madre, Phoenix. Espose alla Royal Academy, alla Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, alla Walker Art Gallery di Liverpool e alla New Gallery. Intorno al 1890 si trasferisce a Wolverhampton e nel 1891 sposa Julia Critchlow (1858-1932). Da allora, ha vissuto stabilmente a Wolverhampton, dove ha mantenuto uno studio in Merridale Road e poi in Clarendon Street, specializzandosi nel ritratto e realizzando le effigi dei sindaci e amministratori comunali di Wolverhampton.
