      NICOLAS PITAU (Flemish, 1632-1671) "Pierre Seguin" 1664 - After Henri Stresor - Engraving on off-white laid paper, later impression. Signed in plate lower right. Unframed. 13.25 x 10.75 inches (33.8 cm x 27.2 cm), sheet is cut close to the raised plate mark. Excellent condition. Includes a copy of 1981 receipt from Craddock and Barnard (London UK) stating that "The above are original artists' engravings over 100 years old". From the Gary Robertson Historical Print Collection (Regina). This piece is also in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery (London) and the Harvard Art Museums.

      Christus in einer Engelsglorie, von Maria und Johannes umgeben, welche für den hl. Bruno und seine Genossen bitten. Kupferstich nach Ph. de Champagne. .. x .. cm. 1657. Nagler 38. Der Kupferstecher und Verleger Nicolas Pitau d.Ä. war ein Schüler von Nicolaes Lauwers und Philippe de Champagne und seit 1656 in Paris tätig. Der vorliegende eindrucksvolle und großformatige Kupferstich ist selten. Ausgezeichneter, gleichmäßiger Druck mit der Einfassungslinie. Geringfügig stockfleckig, kleiner Papierschaden in der rechten unteren Ecke, sonst sehr gut erhalten. Aus den Sammlungen Augustinus Arnold (nicht bei Lugt) und H. Füssli (L. 1008). Auf der Montierung der Sammlung des Fürsten von Liechtenstein.
