The dimensions are 105 x 119 cm. Daniel Pitin (b. 1977) Born in Prague, Daniel Pitin studied classical painting under Z. Beran and conceptual medias with M. Sejn at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He twice received the prize for the best work of the year. Since then he has been working in the field of painting, film and video as a freelance artist. In his predominantly picturesque work, he deals with issues such as loneliness, espionage and surveillance, as well as pornography. His melancholy and almost scary scenes are often reminiscent of theater and film scenes. Grown up in Eastern Europe, Pitin pays special attention to the psychological, architectural and political consequences after the fall of the Iron Curtain. Pitin was awarded the Henkel Art Award for artists from Central and Eastern Europe in 2004; in 2007, he received the Mattoni Prize for the best work of new artists on the Prague Biennial.
