        (1743 - 1818) Revolutionary War brigadier general who repulsed the raid on Danbury, and served on the courts martial of Charles Lee and Major John Andre. A.D.S. 'Wm. Pitkin Clerk' 1p. oblong 8vo., [n.p.], Feb. 1783, being a pay voucher: '...Please to pay out of the public Treasury to... the sum of Nine Shillings... for their Several Travels to the Superior Court at New Haven...' Cross-signed through Pitkin's signature by Revolutionary War Colonel, and later general JEDEDIAH HUNTINGTON (1743-1818). Very dark ink, small hole affecting both signatures, folds, otherwise very good.

        (1725 -1789) Revolutionary War Colonel and member of the Council of Safety, delegate to the Constitutional Convention. A.D.S. 1p. oblong 8vo., Windham, Ct., Sep. 21, 1775, a document completely in Pitkin's hand requesting that the State Treasurer pay the court costs of a man accused of 'Horse Stealing'. Very good.
