    Václav Plátek (1917-1994) Czech, Hand-Cut Glass Vase signed and dated 1968. As is condition, light scratches at base (see photos). Provenance: Purchased by the consigner during Montreal World’s Fair (Expo 1967), Czechoslovakian Pavilion. Size: 10 1/4 x 7 1/2 in.

    Miroslav Plátek (1922-1987), Václav Plátek (1917-1994) KIDNAPING OF EUROPA, 1948-1951. Plate made of a clear glass with the scene on the bottom depicting the kidnaping of Europa in the technique of a negative relief. Unique item was created in the time after 1948 when Václav Plátek worked as an intern in Museum of Decorative Arts and started to work also in the studio of Štefan Rath in Kamenický Šenov starting thus his cooperation with this important company before in closed in 1951. Even though the documentation and study fro this is not signed, the authorship of both brothers is clear. Marked by an engraved mark of comp. Lobmeyr. Ø 35 cm. Condition A/B. Miroslav Plátek (1922-1987), Václav Plátek (1917-1994) ÚNOS EUROPY. 1948-1951. Talíř z čiré skloviny je ve dně zdoben rytinou s motivem únosu Europy provedenou technikou negativního reliéfu. Ojedinělý předmět vznikl v době po r. 1948, kdy Václav Plátek jako stipendista Uměleckoprůmyslového muzea nastoupil do ateliéru Štefana Ratha v Kamenickém Šenově a započal tak spolupráci s touto významnou firmou, a před ukončením její činnosti v r. 1951. Přestože se nepodařilo dohledat k uvedenému předmětu kresebný návrh a není signován, je autorství obou bratrů zřejmé. Značeno rytou značkou firmy Lobmeyr. Ø 35 cm. Stav A/B. Miroslav Plátek (1922-1987), Václav Plátek (1917-1994) DIE ENTFÜHRUNG DER EUROPA. 1948-1951. Klarglas mit graviertem Motiv der Entführung der Europa (negatives Relief). Einzigartiger Gegenstand entstand nach 1948, wann Václav Plátek als Stipendiat des Kunstindustriemuseums ins Atelier von Štefan Rath in Kamenický Šenov kam. Die Vorschläge zum Werk wurden nicht gefunden, die Autorenschaft der beiden Brüder ist aber unbezweifelbar. Gravierte Marke der Firma Lobmeyr. Ø 35 cm. Zustand A/B.
