        CLASSICIST TABLE CLOCK FROM THE WORKSHOP OF J. M. PLATZER End of 18th century, Bohemia Quarter-hour clock, white enamel face - showing the time and calendar. On top two carved swans with floral motifs, a seated female figure on the plinth - an allegory of justice. Ignác Michal Platzer (1757-1826) was one of the main exponents of Czech sculptural classicism. A large number of this artist's sketched designs for furniture and interior furnishings have survived in collections at the Prague UPM. Gilded wood and tin, steel, brass, enamel.
