Joyce Playle Sold at Auction Prices

Joyce studied Fine Art at the SW Essex Technical College and School of Art in the early 60's and was especially drawn to ceramics and painting. After leaving college she taught for a while then set up her own pottery workshop in parallel with having a family.

In 1990 Joyce went to Amersham College as a mature student. She studied painting, developed an interest in sculpture and gained a distinction in the Higher Diploma of Art and Design.

At present Joyce is concentrating on sculpture, exploring animal and human forms with particular interest in the movement of children playing. Her work is realised in a variety of materials including twigs, metal, clay, plaster and fibrocem, cast with resin and in bronze.

Joyce has exhibited both paintings and sculptures in galleries and exhibitions, including: Waterperry, The Red Galleries, Aylesbury Museum, Bucks Artweeks, Oxon Artweeks, Bucks. Art Forum, Asthall Manor, Fenny Lodge, Jelly Legg'd Chicken, Ron Anderson, and The Affordable Art Fair in London.
