ENZO PLAZZOTTA (1921-1981) " Rehearsal for the Dream II", 1973 Sculpture en bronze à patine sombre, édition 1/9.

ENZO PLAZZOTTA (Italian, 1921-1981) Nadia Nerina - Arabesque II 1967 bronze signed and numbered: PLAZOTTA / 8-12 Height 60cm PROVENANCE: Artarmon Galleries, acquired from the artist 4 October 1968 (accompanied by a copy of the purchase receipt and certificate of authenticity signed by the artist) Maurice Chapman, acquired from the above circa 1970s thence by descent OTHER NOTES: Italian-born British sculptor Enzo Plazzotta is primarily known for his bronze human and animal figures found in public spaces, many in London. His series of bronzes exploring the theme of dance were initially inspired by the South African prima ballerina Nadia Nerina, represented in the present lot, which demonstrates his deep understanding of movement and engaging use of the sculptural medium.
