Gaston Ploquin Sold at Auction Prices

Gaston Agricol Ploquin , born the December 19 , 1882 in Lyon 1 and died in the same city on September 5 , 1970 2 , is a French painter and draftsman .

A student at the School of Fine Arts in Lyon , then the painter and decorator Louis Bardey (1851-1915) 3 , Gaston Ploquin exhibited in Lyon as early as 1900 and took part in various Salons lyonnais 4 . In Lyon and during his travels in the near Burgundy and the Côte d'Azur , he makes sketches and paintings of landscapes on the ground. Faithful to the traditional style taught at the academy, he paints landscapes, flowers, historical scenes and still lifes.

Some of his works are preserved at the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon .

Gaston Ploquin is the father of the painter René Ploquin .
