    MONUMENT STUDY

    Est: -

Sketch of the Monument to the buried miners from the collection of Karel Barták and later also a model for the Monument to the Victims of the Disaster at the Nelson mine. The sculpture depicts the mourning mother of a deceased miner who died in a mining accident in Lazy near Orlová. At the initiative of the friends from S.V.U Mánes, the work of that time was later converted from a small scale in bronze to a monumental form in stone. The monument was made in the spirit of social civilism of the 1920s. Signed: Unsigned
