Artist Hand Signed/dated On Front & Titled/Signed/Dated on Verso; Both In Pencil. GYOTAKU printing originated in Japan About 100 years ago. Fishermen created Gyotaku prints, long before photography, to record their prized catches. Gyotaku prints are created by pressing paper onto a fish that has been covered with ink or paint. The impressions are life-like but can also be creatively altered by the artist. The images are Mono Prints (one of a kind images), especially when altered by the artist, because: 1) organic fish doesn't last long. & 2) the image placement & alterations can not be exactly positioned & re-created. Overall Size including margins: approximately 9 1/2 inches wide X 13 inches high. Condition: Very Good/Like New Condition. This is an original one-of-a-kind mono-print.
