The figure in the centre waves the Italian national flag, which covers the whole upper part of the work. Whereas the two companions of the central figure imitate her regarding the posture and gestures. The work was painted around 1980 by Alceo Poltronieri (1924-1995), a well-known Italianpainter. Accordingly, the figures are depicted in a quite stylized form and without any spatial depth. The painting is in appealing overall condition with traces of age and use. The canvas is slightly damaged in the green part of the flag which however does not irritate the good overall impression. The stretcher frame measures 99 cm in height and 120 cm in width.
