      Pen and brown ink, c. 8,1 x 6,3 cm, laid paper, signed "J. E. Pompe. f." (few spots). - Refined drawings of people smoking, drinking and playing music in the style of Flemish masters such as Adriaen Brouwer (c. 1603-1638) and David Teniers II (1610-1690). In these works Jan Engelbert Pompe (1743-1810) mimicks the distinct style of engravings, similar to his contemporary Antoine Overlaet (1720-1774).
