      BART PRAGNELL (Canadian 1907-1966) "Moose Jaw, 1928" - Watercolour on rag paper. Signed with artist stamp verso, signed authentication by the artist's family verso. Framed. 9.5 x 12 inches (image), 16 x 18 inches (frame). Excellent condition. Artist stamp verso, and handwitten note verso by Les Pragnell, brother of the artist, stating 'Authenticated herewith as the original watercolour of Bart Pragnell' followed by signature of Les Pragnell. Also noted verso, 'Moose Jaw, about 1928' signed by Les Pragnell.

      Bartley Robilliard Pragnell 1907 - 1966 Canadian watercolour on paper Bridge Players on a Steamship 9 3/4 x 13 1/2 inches 24.8 x 34.3 centimeters signed Provenance:Private Collection, Vancouver Bartley Pragnell was born in Caron, Saskatchewan. He first taught at the Winnipeg School of Art in 1930 and eventually became its principal, but is considered to be a Saskatchewan artist. He worked primarily in watercolour and was influenced by the Realist school, portraying ordinary people engaged in everyday work and play. The Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon has a large collection of his art. Images such as this capture the feeling of another time, when travel was leisurely.
