        Sem Presser (1917-1986). "In het strafkamp te Vught (...)": "Strafgymnastiek op de binnenplaats." "Achter de secure prikkeldraadomheining, vindt het strafexerceeren plaats." Two photos, both ca. 18.5 x 24 cm. and on reverse with copright stamp "Anefo" (Algemeen Nederlandsch Fotobureau) and numbered "HL 4270"/"HL 4263" and typoscript strip with extensive clarification on reverse. "In het strafkamp te Vught (...) zijn nu ongeveer 7000 Nederlandse collaborateurs en landverraders opgesloten (...) 300 Nederlandsche SS mannen, die het landverraderlijke Duitsche soldatenpak hebben aangetrokken. (...) in afwachting van hun definitieve berechtiging, brengen zij hier hun dagen onder een streng regiem door."

        Sem Presser (1917-1986). "Berg. Commandant P.D.A." Original photo, 23 x 16.5 cm., with title and directions in pencil and copyright stamp "Anefo" (Algemeen Nederlandsch Fotobureau) and numbered "HL 4832" on reverse. With: "Westerveld, een der beulen Amersfoort. Westerveld P.D.A. 1945". Similar and similar-sized photo as the former, with the same features on reverse (numbered "HL 4879"). Iconic photos, part of a photo report of Amersfoort concentration camp shortly after the war, when it had become an internment camp for war criminals and collaborators. The photo of camp commander Berg is (differently cut) displayed on the Wikipedia page about Presser: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sem_Presser. During World War II, Karl Peter Berg (1907-1949) was SS-Schutzhaftlagerführer II under SS-Obersturmführer Walter Heinrich in Amersfoort concentration camp and succeeded him as Lagerkommandant after Heinrich's departure in 1943. He was executed by firing squad, remarkable for unexpectedly shouting "fire" first himself. See: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Peter_Berg (again with this photo). The second photo is of the Dutch camp-SS man ("Blockführer") Berend Johan Westerveld, also known as "The Bicycle Repairman". He was standing besides Berg when the photo was taken.
