Collective
Psyckoze part of different groups: 156 All Starz, MAC, UK, GT ... Each group has a different philosophy. The 156 All Starz has always had an artistic dimension and probably corresponds to the group Psyckoze always felt close. This first approach led Psyckoze to develop many group projects.
The Charbonniers - From Coke to Art 1991
In 1991 he was a founding member of the group The Charbonniers with a group of friends. Together, they occupy a coal warehouse in the 13th arrondissement of Paris in which they will hold for two years, events bringing together painters, sculptors, musicians, actors ...
Psyckoze realizes the strength of the group and the necessity to unite the creative energies, regardless of the discipline in which it is expressed. He began a militant approach to obtain spaces of creation and distribution for the recognition of urban cultures.
It is committed through various alternative projects in the district of Belleville LGQFDT (the people doing stuff), The Monkey Tavern, Pole Pi ...
He becomes aware of the precarious status of the artist, of the difficulty of obtaining a work area. By necessity, in 1998, he held the foundry, an industrial building in Bagnolet. He partnered with Tarak Ferreri, stage manager, and develops programming in different disciplines. Between 2002 and 2005, the space welcomes the public every Friday for exhibitions, concerts, theaters all free but in total illegality. The concept is proven and the public, reflecting the social diversity, are increasingly numerous. The place also attracts professionals from the art world who perceive it as a laboratory.
In 2005, the Foundry is sold and the municipality of Bagnolet offers Psyckoze a cultural partnership agreement in a space located at 115, rue Sadi Carnot . The place is called "the 115". This new space does not allow the public in compliance with safety standards. Psyckoze decided to make a space for residence for foreign artists who wish to develop an art project on Paris. Between 2005 and 2008, the "115" hosts from thirty urban artists from around the world (USA, Brazil, Iran, Chile, Taiwan ...) to which they offer a creative space with different technical skills with the key, an exhibition in Paris. Various workshops are created: painting, photography, music studio, screen printing shop, tattoo caravan, bicycle workshop. Fifteen artists permanently working there. The whole project is based on the exchange of expertise and artists (and permanent residents) stay free.
On the night 4 to 5 December 2008, the 115, is a victim of criminal origin fire. The space, very damaged is then closed.
The 115 has been a catalyst of energy and determination around what is now called the "street art". It has enabled many actors of that culture to meet, create projects and build this culture.
Activities
The entire Psyckoze approach is part of a decidedly urban environment. The city is the founding element of its shares.
Mosaic - underground quarries of Paris, 2012
On paintings, his work stems directly from graffiti codes. Tags, streaks overlap in his abstract works; its more figurative paintings, his characters without faces come to life with the same dynamic that tag: a line released as a signature.
In the street, his approach now takes a social dimension. Beyond his spontaneous interventions Psyckoze conducted during the spring of 2012, a mural at Bagnolet , in consultation with local stakeholders (associations, schools, residents, municipality). This collective work is the starting point of a park development project to achieve with the participation of other artists and locals.
Besides his work in the city, Psyckoze developing for over 25 years, an action under the city, in the underground quarries of Paris . In this timeless space and constraints of society, he pursued a timeless approach based on the track so that urban works survive the present generations. He has painted many murals, created a course with his characters in the maze of 69 km of the network. In 2012, he directed and installed in situ, a mosaic of one of his graffiti, as a snub to the ephemeral nature of this culture. This mosaic has also been vandalized.
