Diversi suoi dipinti furono acquistati dal Re di Sassonia e in seguito furono acquisiti dal Museo di Dresda. Nel 1849 continuì la sua formazione artistica a Lione sotto la direzione di Simon Saint-Jean e Grosclaude. Nel 1851, dopo aver inviato due dei suoi dipinti a Dresda, fu nominata membro onorario dell'Accademia di Belle Arti, la prima donna a ricoprire questo incarico Espose a Parigi dal 1848 e Lione dal 1849, principalmente dipinti di fiori e frutti.

Born in 1828 in Germany to French parents, Elise Puyroche-Wagner first studied at the Konigliche Kunstacademie in Dresden before continuing her studies in Paris and then in Lyon, where she became the student of the successful flower painter Simon Saint Jean. Settling in Lyon to specialize in flower painting, she married pastor Alexandre Parrot de Puyroche and along with her sister Adelaide Salles-Wagner, also an artist, held a literary salon attended by such Lyonnais artists as Theodore Caruelle d'Aligny and Joseph Guichard. Flower painting was an important aspect of textile design in Lyon in the middle of the 19th century and the work by Dutch Old Masters such as Jan van Huysum, Rachel Ruysch and David de Heem were particularly admired. In the present painting with its sophisticated composition of velvety flowers, finely decorated porcelain vase and luminous goldfish bowl set upon a shot silk cloth, all painted with a high degree of finish, Elise Puyroche-Wagner has succeeded in following the Neo-Dutch tradition so esteemed at the time and which continues to be appreciated. She continued her associations in Germany, becoming an honorary member of the art academy in Dresden in 1851 and exhibiting her work in Munich in 1879. Puyroche-Wagner first exhibited her still lifes in 1864 at the Lyon Salon and later began exhibiting at the Dijon Salon in 1887, continuing to exhibit there until 1894, the year before her death. Her work is in the collections of the Galerie Neue Meister, Dresden and in Museum der Bildenen Kunst, Leipzig. HID01801242017
