錢杜　龍門秋雨水墨紙本　立軸　一八一五年作款識：龍門秋雨霽，瑤草香接天。北斗挂青壁，天池開白蓮。道人入定久，趺坐袒右肩。走入苦竹林，手汲丹砂泉。松花落風鑪，石銚聲泠然。願學錬形術，蟬退追飛仙。乙亥五月既望，錢叔美並題。此廿年前在曼生桑連理館中信手塗抹之作，久不復記憶，今流轉在菉仲世講處，裝池完好，過為珍重，彌增汗顔。道光乙未五月廿二日，錢叔美重觀並記。鈐印：「錢叔美」、「叔美」、「松壺小隱」。來源：一九九六年九月得於香港註：「曼生」即西泠八家之一陳鴻壽（1768-1822），浙江錢塘人。工書畫、篆刻、詩文，善製紫砂壺。曾官溧陽知縣、江南海防河務同知。宰邑溧陽時，衙署有連理桑樹，故名齋曰「桑連理館」。他性豪爽，好交遊，館中舊雨新知沓來，一時賢俊流連，觴詠論藝，研製茗壺，允稱勝事。諸友中，錢叔美嗜壺，自號「松壺」、「壺公」，與曼生交誼尤切，不僅參與銘壺，亦留下不少佳作，如為曼生寫〈桑連理館圖〉，與改琦、汪鴻合作〈桑連理館主客圖〉，本幅屬其一。曼生早歿，畫作流轉易手，廿載後，竟重見於「菉仲世講」處，時維一八三五年。「菉仲」即高頌禾，浙江仁和人，活躍於嘉道年間，官至兩淮鹽大使，善詩。畫家見之，未知是否憶起當日桑連理館意氣風發、同道歡聚之景況？遂重題，述其淵源。 96 x 28 cm 37¾ x 11 in. ---------------------------------------------- Qian Du 1763 - 1844 Scholar under the Pine Tree ink on paper, hanging scroll signed, dated 1815, inscribed, with 3 seals of the artist 96 x 28 cm 37¾ x 11 in.

錢杜　秋燈課子圖水墨紙本　手卷　一八三八年作杜純署簽王錫泰題引首翁同龢、張廷濟、潘曾瑩等題跋簽書：清錢叔美繪費氏〈秋鐙課子圖〉精品。千卷樓主人了盦氏藏。引首：秋鐙課子圖。麋生姻大兄先生屬書。秋水王錫泰。款識：涼颷颯颯吹秋籬，屋中有母攜兩兒。教兒習禮兼習詩，一燈坐對如嚴師。兒好嬉戲夏楚施，兒能讀書母心怡。荒雞咿喔神忘疲，十年辛苦誰知之。遂使遐邇聲名馳，燦如雲霞重鼎彝。罔極惟感慈恩慈，母今已往留形儀。記以圖畫誌永思，嗚呼返哺將何時，嗚呼返哺將何時！〈秋燈課子圖〉。道光戊戌九月，錢唐錢杜作並題。題跋：〈費壽曾、壽康〉壽曾兄弟當舞勺之歲，先君子已棄養三年矣。日就傅歸，吾母孤燈紡織，親督不肖讀書，每至五夜罷，講畫字畢，輒歎曰：天下有茹蘖之苦，莫如孤寡，吾非不能從而父於地下，徒以君舅在堂，而輩皆未成立，若吾僅以身殉，何以慰九原乎！因作〈秋燈課子詩〉。甫一年而吾母又見背，煢煢抱疚，回憶吾母所以教不肖者，雖古賢母無以過也。母系同里顧氏，少稟外大父蘭夫先生家訓，能成小詩，顧以非內則所應為，不多作，作亦不存稿。就不肖竊記，僅得斷句十餘首，雖篇帙寥寥，而吾母之謦欬存焉；吾母之苦節見焉。不忍聽其久而就湮，緣謹壽諸石，庶不泯當年燈下之訓，且以誌不肖困頓名場，未克表揚先志為痛心云。道光丁西歲秋七月。不肖壽曾、壽康謹誌。（另錄董兆熊、潘曾瑩、袁甲三、俞岳、顧廣譽、楊文蓀、張廷濟、許楣、張文虎、翁同龢、熊其英等共二十六家跋。）鈐印：「杜」、「壼公」。來源：香港蘇富比，二〇〇二年十月，中國書畫拍賣，編號62 註：「課子圖」題材自清中葉以降，每見於畫家筆下，或〈青燈課子〉，又或〈鳴機課子〉，俱屬後人感念慈恩，以其居孀守節，督促課業，卒教導成材，故倩畫家圖記之。在讀書中舉為致仕途徑的時代（納資捐班始終不如「兩榜」出身清貴），家庭自以兒輩教育置首位。後人學業有成或勳名顯著後，或出於追懷先德，或藉此炫耀克勤成家，多倩畫家繪「課子圖」，廣邀戚友、同年、僚屬等賦詩作文，題咏於卷尾，蔚然而成洋洋大觀之作，此為「課子圖」一時之盛的客觀原因。從卷尾所附翁同龢題跋，即迻錄其父題他人另一內容相同之作，足證「課子圖」風氣之盛。本卷屬追懷先德之恩，但不脱上述範圍。不同之處在於錢杜據圖中主角費壽曾兄弟母親顧氏的詩作寫成此卷。費壽曾、壽康兄弟，嘉道時期江蘇吳江人，未及成年，父喪。母顧氏每夜孤燈紡織，督兒課業至天亮。顧氏有詩才，惜作品未有存稿，費氏兄弟憑記憶得斷篇零章。母逝，他們將所憶記殘篇恭錄，以其中〈秋鐙課子〉一詩，倩錢杜圖之。故先成詩，後補圖，費氏兄弟於道光十七年（1837）錄母遺詩三首並題跋述緣起因由，錢杜於翌年秋補成。附於卷尾的題跋，以具署年者的次序先後排列，從一八四四年至一八七六年，長達廿餘年。以裝裱的次序視之，恐為民國初期轉易重裝時所顛倒誤置，故時序排列略有參差。錢杜寫本卷時已屆七四高齡，雖云暮年之作，惟構圖簡潔精鍊，運筆瀟灑，一點一劃描繪間毫無頹唐老態。本卷篇幅不多，惟精緻可人，以草舍外庭園的仔細描寫最見用心，如庭中所置巨石靈秀剔透，極具立體效果，屋畔籬邊的竹林、芭蕉、古榕、梧桐等，配置交錯穿插，各盡其姿，營造了一片夜寂幽邈之境，以景襯情烘出草舍內課子誦讀之聲。全圖以淡墨出之，平淡率直，純屬錢叔美儒雅雋逸的風格，見工緻而無造作刻板的流氣，堪稱其晚年佳構。題跋者不乏赫赫有名之輩。其中顯宦則首推「帝師」翁同龢，他移錄其父翁心存（1791-1862）為他人母親題〈秋鐙課讀圖〉詩，將內容相同的詩作題於本卷，時兼同龢正居母憂，其跋遂具雙重意義。此外，如蘇州世家潘曾瑩（1808-1878）、河南項城的袁甲三（1806-1863），亦題跋於卷上。學者則有書法金石名宿張廷濟、經史學家許楣（1797-1870）、目錄學者張文虎（1808-1885）、古文辭家楊文蓀（1782-1853）、經學學者顧廣譽（1800-1867）等，均為一時俊彦之聚集，亦可見吳江費氏在道咸時期的身份，交遊於官場與學界間。署簽杜純（?-1924後），號了庵，室名千卷樓，廣東番禺人。入民國，歷任浙江杭州關監督、兩浙鹽運使。精鑒賞，好收藏。引首 Frontispiece: 25.8 x 113.8 cm 10⅛x 44¾in. 畫心: 25.8 x 42.4 cm 10⅛x 16½in.
