Shaowu Qian Sold at Auction Prices

Qian Shaowu, was born in 1928 in Wuxi of Jiangsu Province. He graduated inSculpture department of Central Academy of Fine Art and was retained as a teacher in 1951. In 1953, he was sent to USSR to study Sculpture and returned back to China in 1959 after graduation to teach in Sculpture Department of Central Academy of Fine Art and was appointed as the dean of the department. In his early ages, he advocated realism to create such as "Song of Road". Statue of Jiang Feng was his magnum opus of the transition from realism to enjoyable style. Jiang Feng is a frank and honest artist. For the same experience, Qian Shaowu respected his humanness, and the treatment of masculine of eyebrow, nose and facial features goes with the person characteristics. The structure of thisSculpture is clear and powerful, with a little exaggerated line to show the spirit.
