      Israel Quick (Ohio/American, 1830-1901), "Portrait of a Young Boy," oil on canvas, signed lower right and dated 1895, measures 72 x 42 inches unframed, overall in the frame it measures 76.75 x 46.50 inches. CONDITION: Good, could use a cleaning. Quick was photographer tinter, teacher and painter in Cincinnati, Ohio. One of the few Jewish artists in the region, he was a partner in the photography firm of Hoag & Quick in the 1860s and 70s. His landscape and portrait paintings were exhibited in Cincinnati from the mid 1860s until the mid 1890s, including at the Cincinnati Industrial Expositions. Quick was an instructor at the Cincinnati Art Institute.
