Napoli, 1851 - 1919 Pomeriggio al Parc Monceau Firmato Ragione in basso a sinistra Olio su tela applicata su tavola, cm 22X38 Raffaele Ragione si forma all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli attraverso gli insegnamenti di Domenico Morelli. Capace di cogliere piccole scene di vita quotidiana borghese realizzate en plein air attraverso pennellate rese a piccole e grandi macchie, con toni freschi e delicati, Ragione, nel suo stile tardo-impressionista, è sempre molto sensibile alle variazioni della luce del giorno. Fu presente alla Promotrice di Genova nel 1874 e nel 1875, espose a Milano nel 1874 e nel 1895, a Torino negli anni 1875 e 1878 e a Roma nel 1893. Nel 1902 si trasferì a Parigi dove rimase fino alla fine dei suoi giorni, ritraendo alla maniera impressionista i giardini e i parchi della città, animati da eleganti figure femminili abbigliate secondo la moda parigina.

Die linke Dame in roter Bluse mit weißem Spitzenkragen, gerade mit Handarbeiten beschäftigt. Die andere Dame mit dunklem Kleid weißer langer Schürze, den Blick gerade auf den Boden gerichtet. Im Hintergrund zwei weitere Personen und eine flirrende Vielfalt, die an Äste und Bäume erinnert. Si dedicò soprattutto alla pittura di genere: con il trasferimento a Parigi nel 1900 realizza soggetti impressionisti ambientati al Parc Monceau o nei bellissimi giardini delle Tuileries. Al gusto napoletano dell'improvvisazione riuscì a unire l'immediatezza impressionistica: il risultato sono opere caratterizzate dal connubio tra il naturalismo palizziano e la poeticità morelliana. Ragione' lower right Dimensions: 24 x 37 cm Frame: 54.5 x 68 cm Good condition Provenance: Private collection, France The genre scene presenting four ladies in long dresses and hatted situated in the Parisian park Monceau, which was already painted by Claude Monet, belongs to a series of impressionist figure paintings, created by Ragione while he lived in Paris. Condition: The painting is in good condition consistent with the age. The varnish has been darkened and there are overall scattered marks. Retouched spots can be seen overall and at the edges and corners. The frame shows usual signs of age and wear as well as tears and loss of material mainly at the edges. The dimensions are 24 x 37 cm and the frame measures 54.5 x 68 cm. Raffaele Ragione (1851-1919) Raffaele Ragione, an Italian painter from Naples, who lived in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century for a time, was known for his impressionist genre paintings. Firstly, Ragione studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in his hometown, where he was a pupil of Morelli und Lista. His works painted in Paris show rural and urban scenes of the city and its environment and a series of genre paintings, which present groups of figures in different variations situated in the Parisian parks.
