JAMES R. RANDALL (1839-1908) American poet and journalist, best known as the author of "Maryland, My Maryland." A.L.S., 2pp., 4to., Augusta, Jun. 26, 1895, to "Miss Whittle." Randall mentions several pieces that would offer more information on himself and his works, and also discusses possibly answering more questions about "Maryland, My Maryland," in part: "…It is rather difficult to furnish any new matter about myself or 'My Maryland!', but if you think that an inquisition will avail, I am ready to answer questions…" The signature in black ink was at one time cut from the document, but has been repaired with archival tape, else very good.
