        Detlev van Ravenswaay Original Artwork. This original multimedia piece appears to depict the belt around Saturn. Signed and dated in the lower left. The artist has inscribed the piece on revers: "Dear Mr. Donald P. Puddy: Here is the original artwork I told/wrote I would send to you. Please note my letter which I send in separate mail (not included), Sincerely yours, Detlev van Ravenswaay". Detlev is a famous artist in Germany and has even designed some of the German postage stamps relating to space. His art is highly sought after.         Detlev Van Ravenswaay: Three Original Acrylic Art Works Used in Popular Science Fiction Publications. (1956-) German artist, still active, known for his striking and imaginative works capturing the science of the cosmos. 1.) "End of the Planetary System" (1992) a phenomenally appealing science fiction landscape in reds and oranges that evidently found its way in several publications. Original acrylic and watercolor on board, 16 x 21 1/2" 2.) "Horsehead Nebula in Orion" (1993) original artwork where photographs of the piece were offered by image banks for use in popular science publications. 15 1/2 x 21 1/2". 3.) "In the Rings of Neptune" (1994) original acrylic and watercolor that boasts a vivid almost 3-D effect that is remarkable. Again offered by image banks for use in science publications. 15 1/2 x 21". All three works have Van Ravensway's label on verso and all stating "Buyer of this painting agrees not to reproduce for any commercial use or product until 1999." Van Ravenswaay painted 52 depictions of the happening, that were finally edited for a short film accentuated with background music. The film has been broadcasted many times on German television. Condition: The work is in a good overall condition with light traces of age. The lower right edge is slightly creased. The cardboard measures 50 x 61.5 cm. Detlev is a famous artist in Germany and has even designed some of the German postage stamps relating to space. His art is highly sought after.
