      A framed oil on board painting of a hunt by Leo Rawlings (British, 1918-84).  Signed to the lower left by the artist. Rawlings first came to prominence as an artist showing drawings he'd composed surreptitiously as a prisoner of war of the Japanese during World War II. He later worked as a boys comic artist for various publishers including D.C. Thomson & Co. and L. Miller and Son, Ltd. His work appeared in The Victor, The Hornet, and Young Marvelman, . Many of his strips also chronicled war.

      Leo Rawlings (1918-1990) signed color lithograph, signed and dated in pen lower left 'Leo Rawlings 1968', titled Sport of Kings. Measures 20.375 inches x 32.125 inches sheet size (trimmed). Very good condition with light creases in the left margin. Unframed, loose and not mounted or glued down. If lot is absent of a condition report a condition report may be requested via email. Condition report is provided as an opinion only and is no guarantee as grading can be subjective. Buyer must view photographs or scans to assist in determining condition and ask further questions if so desired. Provenance: C.D. Raymond & Son collection.
