VI/XII Sheet size 34,5 x 50 cm From a private Berlin collection Detailed etching Very good condition These two beautiful etchings are deeply rooted in the tradition of many old and new masters - almost no known artist has not been fascinated by the impressive gothic cathedrals. The subject might not be a new one but Reggiori has taken his liberties in creating a new impression, especially in contrasting the building with the floral border he has drawn around his etchings. Both sheets are in a very good condition. Each plate measures 24.4 x 30 cm. Both sheets have a watermark in form of an anchor in the lower right corner. Albino Reggiori (1933-2006) Reggiori was originally a learned ceramic artist who later turned towards drawing and painting. Even though he worked a lot with water colours, he never stopped creating works in ceramic too. You can nowadays find some of his works in different churches in Italy. In 1997 he began his series "Cattedrali... una voce verso il cielo".
