      Joseph Ferdinand Regnier for Sevres, an exhibition pate sur pate tri colour celadon ground vase, circa 1867, Second Empire, twin handled pedestal double ogee form, the flaring neck flanked by gilt enriched relief moulded horned lions masks, mouths open, the main opposing panels painted and hand tooled with allegorical putti in clouds, representing the seasons, Winter and Summer, one holding a spinning thread, the other with wheat sheaf, within quatrelobed and beaded cartouches, interlinked by roundels of flaming urn and spoils of harvest, the ground with foliate fronds, above a tooled gilt and foliate lappet band, ribboned knop and arcaded floral foot and top rim, signed and dated in underglaze blue, Napoleon III gilders mark 67 and body mark 1862, 41cm high Note: for an almost identical pair of vases of the same design, without the tooled gilding seen on this example, see Christie's sale 1716, 24th October 2006, lot 160
