Biography from ArmstrongFineArt.Com: Innovative twentieth-century Dutch printmaker Nono Reinhold (b.1929) was born in Haarlem. She first studied at the School of Decorative Arts, Amsterdam, from 1947 through 1951. She moved to Paris in 1951 and worked in Hayter's famous workshop, Atelier 17, creating prints with guidance from Pierre Alechinsky and Krishna Reddy. In 1957, she bought her own press and established her lithographic studio Atelier Patris, located on Rue Boulard. New York City became her next destination; she concluded her studies at the Pratt Graphic Center. She explored the NYC art world during this time, forming influential friendships with Hans Haacke, Jim Dine, and Willem de Kooning. By 1963, Reinhold had returned to Amsterdam. From 1980 to 1990, she was the Professor of Printmaking at the Academie des Beaux-Arts in Bois Le Duc, Den Bosch, splitting her time between teaching and working in her Amsterdam printmaking studio. Admired for her technique, saturated painterly color, and poetic mark-making, Nono Reinhold has exhibited in shows throughout Europe, the United States, and Japan. In addition, her prints are in several prominent museum collections across the globe.
