Julian Rena was born in 1965 and trained as an antique restorer and as a chef, working in restaurants in London until a serious accident in the early nineties. Gradually he took up work as a sculptor. His earlier training bearing on his work in the composing of his pieces, some methods and the range of his materials. Among these were lead, gold, fur, seeds, feathers and stone. For ten years now he has sculpted mostly in stone. He worked in studios both in India and Italy and sources the larger part of his material from these countries. He always looks out for knew methods, materials and techniques and is either working to commission or toward a show. At present he has a studio in Wimbledon, London.
He has had several exhibitions in London, shown around the country and has work in collections both in England and abroad.
