      Featured in this lot is a Big Horn Sheep bronze circa 1968 by Montana artist, Ray Renfroe, who was born in 1918. The sculpture features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze construction that features a regal Big Horn Sheep on a downward slope and mounted on an oak shield. The bronze is signed by Ray Renfroe and is marked as follows:1968 - Prescott. Ray Renfroe's is known for bronze sculptures and paintings of western subject matter rendered with meticulous attention to detail and with beautifully multi-color, mirror-like patinas. Renfroe was born in Louisiana on April 25, 1918. As a boy, he lived in many southern states including Texas. He left home at age 15 to make his way as a journeyman blacksmith. At 17, he moved to the Gallatin area of Montana when it still teemed with elk, moose, deer, grizzly and black bear, wolf, beaver, coyote and other creatures of the wild. The condition of this Big Horn Sheep bronze is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this bronze are 14" x 8 1/4" x 5 3/4".*
