The portrait was published or mentioned in the book by Fritz Reusing 'Bedeutende Männer - schöne Frauen', as can be seen from the letter provided by the owners. The painting is accompanied by an also elegant photographic portrait of the lady portrayed. Frame. Das Porträt wurde in dem Buch von Fritz Reusing 'Bedeutende Männer - schöne Frauen' abgebildet bzw. erwähnt, wie aus dem von den Eigentümern zur Verfügung gestellten Brief hervorgeht. Reusing 1900', Maße: 82 x 61 cm (Rahmenausschnitt), 92 x 71 cm (Rahmenmaß), Zustand: gut, in kleineren Keilrahmen neu gerahmt, Kommentar: Dieselbe junge Dame porträtiert der Künstler einige Jahre später mit Hütchen im gelben Kleid in einem Gemälde von 1916. Ein solches Gemälde ist im Auktionshaus Zeller in Lindau am 06.05.1998 versteigert worden. + Technique: Oil on canvas, framed, Signature: verso visibly signed and dated 'F. Reusing 1900', Dimensions: 82 x 61 cm (frame cut-out), 92 x 71 cm (frame size), Condition: good, newly framed, Comment: The same young lady portrayed by the artist a few years later with a little hat in a yellow dress in a painting from 1916. Such a painting was auctioned at auction house Zeller in Lindau in 1998.

The image dimensions are 49.5 x 70 cm, frame dimensions 66 x 86 cm. Fritz Reusing (1874-c.1957) Fritz Reusing was born in Mülheim an der Ruhr in 1874. He studied at the Düsseldorf academy under P. Jansen, Crois and Claus Meyer. He made himself a reputation primarily as a portrait painter, creating among others portraits of the Emperors Wilhelm I, Frederick III and Wilhelm II as well as the famous dancer Niddy Impekoven.
