Pfannebecker Collection Artist Biography Born in 1941 in Orange, CA, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Rice was a longtime faculty member at the Rhode Island School of Design. She received her B.F.A. and M.F.A. in ceramics from the University of Washington, Seattle, studying under Howard Kottler. First a professor of ceramics at RISD, she later became head of the school’s Ceramics department, as well as serving as dean of Fine Arts. Her work is held in the collection of the American Art Museum, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. Good overall; moderate overall crazing; small chip to inner edge of biscuit box wall.
