              Adrian Ludwig Richter 1803 Dresden – 1884 ebenda Tusche, Blei- und Farbstiftzeichnungen, teilweise aquarelliert, sowie verschiedene Drucktechniken. Teils signiert, datiert oder bezeichnet. Vereinzelt mit Annotationen von fremder Hand. Zwei Arbeiten im Passepartout montiert. Adrian Ludwig Richter 1803 Dresden – 1884 ebenda Erster Zeichenunterricht bei seinem Vater Carl August, Lehrer an der Dresdner Kunstakademie. 1816 Aufnahme an der Dresdner Kunstakademie. 1820 siebenmonatige Reise als Landschaftszeichner für Fürst Narischkin, Oberkammerherr der russischen Kaiserin Elisabeth Alexejewna nach Frankreich. 1823–26 Italienaufenthalt, zeitweise mit seinem Kommilitonen Ernst Ferdinand Oehme, verkehrte im Kreise der Nazarener und wurde maßgeblich von J. A. Koch beeinflusst. Ende 1824 vollendete Richter sein vielbeachtetes Erstlingswerk "Der Watzmann". 1825 Bekanntschaft mit Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld und Wilhelm von Kügelgen. 1828–35 Anstellung als Lehrer an der Zeichenschule der Porzellanmanufaktur Meissen. 1836 Lehrer für Landschafts- und Tiermalerei an der Königlich-Sächsischen Kunstakademie Dresden, 1841 Berufung zum Professor für Landschaftsmalerei an der Dresdner Kunstakademie. 1853 wurde Richter zum Ehrenmitglied der Münchner Kunstakademie ernannt und erhielt 1859 die Ehrendoktorwürde für Philosophie der Universität Leipzig sowie zahlreiche Auszeichnungen. 1869 begann Richter mit der Niederschrift seiner "Lebenserinnerungen eines deutschen Malers".
