    • Michelle, Swingerclub Frivoli by Reiner Riedler (* 1968)
      Dec. 04, 2010

Michelle, Swingerclub Frivoli by Reiner Riedler (* 1968)

      Est: €2,000 - €3,000

For his project Pleasure Garden Riedler spent time hanging out in swinger and fetish clubs. As in his series Fake Holidays he was fascinated by an artificial environment that gives rise to a sort of glaring hyper-reality. Taking photographs at locations where sexual practices take place is not always simple: To unequivocally dissociate himself from the role of the voyeur, Riedler kept distance to his motives, while trying to understand the acting persons, to make the penchant for these places plausible in his images.

Frau mit Münzen by Reiner Riedler (*1968)

      Est: €2,500 - €3,500

The photograph is from the series "The Human Spot" in which Riedler gets his inspiration from different novels. The "Lady with Coins" is based on John Updike's novel Rabbit is Rich, which deals with themes like social status, money, greed and depression. Riedler seizes these topics and creates an ironic image with a very staged scenery.
