Pez (Spain, 1976) Balloon Boy, 2018 Acrylic & Resin Sculpture for Pez's solo show "SWEET LIFE" in Hoxton Arches - London 2018 Based on an old drawing from 2013 "Balloon Boy". Very fragile piece « Sweet Life »: a first retrospective that encompasses the four ages of life through my favourite series. It all starts with the Dream Series which evokes childhood in a satiric way, at the crossroads of black humour and offbeat daydreams. The Distroy Series, with its references to pop culture and video games heroes, is intended as a snapshot of adolescence. The “Green pieces” then take you into adulthood, anticipating a disenchanted world and questioning our ecological legacy. Finally, the Pixel Series concludes this exhibition. The material world disaggregates into a cloud of pixels and becomes abstract, symbolizing the journey to death. 23 x 12 x 12 in
