      Watercolor and gouache over pencil on ivory Russia, 1808/09 Probably Peter Ernst Rockstuhl (1764-1824) – Baltic – German miniature painter and Silhouette Artist Dimensions: 5.6 x 4.5 cm Frame: 21 x 20.5 cm Good condition due to age Profile image of the Russian Prince Mikhail Petrovich Dolgorukov (1780-1808) in his uniform. The miniature belongs probably to a group of Officer portraits from the hand of Peter Ernst Rockstuhl. Object is regular taxed. 19% VAT is added to the purchase price for deliveries within the EU. Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 4,000 Euro Condition: The Paint on the surface is in parts slightly rubbed and marked. Under inspection in ultraviolet light and in partially also sided light retouching become visible on the uniform, hair as well as in the background. The ivory plate measures 5.6 x 4.5 cm. The carved and gilded frame shows signs of usage and measures 21 x 20.5 cm. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
