    Dino Rosin (Italian, b. 1948), c. 1990 hand-formed and applied, clear and calcedonian glass with iridescent clear glass face, titled 'Relax' from the Dino Rosin Arte Studio, Murano Italy. The sculpture depicts an abstracted figure in swirled pastel colors on a black glass base, from the artist's 'Relax' series. The work is etched with Rosin's signature and also having his applied labels to the ebony solid glass plinth. The sculpture is in excellent condition with no visible scratches or chips. Dimensions Height: 76.5cm x 19.5cm x 15cm (30” x 7.5” x 6”) Weight: Location: Sydney.     Dino Rosin (Italian, b. 1948) "Relax" Murano Glass Sculpture. Measures approx. - 27 1/8" high x 7" wide. Signed on base. Beautiful calcedonia (chalcedony) art glass sculpture. Dino Rosin was born in Venice, Italy on May 30, 1948. His family moved to the glassmaking island of Murano when he was two months old. At the age of twelve, he left school and began work as an apprentice at the Barovier and Toso glassworks where he remained until he joined his brothers, Loredano and Mirko, at their factory, Artvet, in 1963. Dino continued at Artvet until 1975 when he moved to Loredano's newly established studio as his assistant. There Dino collaborated with his brother for almost 20 years. He was Loredano's right hand in the "piazza" and a master in his own right in cold work. In 1988, Dino Rosin was invited to Pilchuck Glass School in the state of Washington to teach solid freehand glass sculpture with Loredano and the American glass artist, William Morris. Then in 1992, Loredano met an untimely death in a boating accident. Dino assumed the role of "maestro" and began single-handedly to produce his brother's old designs and ultimately his own.     Property of a Bluffton, SC Collector Description: Dino Rosin (Italy, b. 1948), Calcedonian, Murano Glass Sculpture, signed on the side of the base, figural multicolored glass sculpture on a black oval base, with Murano stamp on underside. Provenance: M. P. Demetre Jewelers, Charleston, SC, 1998, for $2400. Dino Rosin was born in Venice, Italy on 1948. His family moved to the glassmaking island of Murano when he was two months old. At the age of twelve, he left school and began work as an apprentice at the Barovier and Toso glassworks where he remained until he joined his brothers, Loredano and Mirko, at their factory, Artvet, in 1963. Dino continued at Artvet until 1975 when he moved to Loredano's newly established studio as his assistant. There Rosin collaborated with his brother for almost 20 years. In 1988, Rosin was invited to Pilchuck Glass School in the Washington state to teach solid freehand glass sculpture with Loredano and the American glass artist, William Morris. In 1992, Loredano met an untimely death in a boating accident. Dino assumed the role of 'maestro' and began to produce his brother's old designs and ultimately his own. He uses the ancient technique of 'calcedonia' coloration for his glass works of art. The colors in his works range from bright yellows to deep purples, varying on the metals used, temperature and duration the glass is in the furnace. Rosin's work is shown at many galleries throughout the United States. His first personal appearance tour in America in 1993 was a great success and he has continued to visit galleries to much acclaim. He has made several gallery appearances through the United States, culminating in a one-man show at the prestigious Corning Museum in Corning, New York. Dimensions: 16.25 x 8.25 in. Weight: 18 lbs. Dino Rosin's brother, Loredano Rosin, has been credited with rediscovering the lost technique of calcedonia (chalcedony) which involves the alchemical mixing of glass with other elements such as silver. After Loredano's untimely death, Dino carried on the tradition and continues to create unique works using this technique.

This late 20th century art glass sculpture handmade by celebrated glass artist Dino Rosin on the island of Murano is a solid glass figure technique using a proprietary chalcedony glass and hand polished. The sculpture depicts an intimate kiss with two heads having multi-colored striated decorations in hues of blue, lavender, scarlet and gray. The piece is etched with Dino Rosin's signature and has a label stating it's origin as Murano Italy.

    signed to base, 27cm wide x 12.5cm deep x 54cm high Dino Rosin uses the ancient technique of "Calcedonia" coloration for his glass works of art, each sculpture has its own unique coloration, not to be duplicated. colors range from bright yellows to deep purples, varying on the metals used, temperature and duration the glass is in the furnace. Dino Rosin was born in Venice May 30, 1948. His family moved to the glass making island of Murano when he was just two months old. At the age of twelve he left school and began work as an apprentice at the Barovier and Toso glassworks where he remained until he joined his brothers, Loredano and Mirko, at their factory, Artvet, in 1963.
