A crowned Bathsheba leads her son Salamo to a throne, on which lie a crown and a sceptre. Behind them angels, two putti above the scene lift an open Bible with the title of a book. Verso with Latin text, signed lower right in the depiction: "Seb. Bourdon pinxit Gil. Rousselet sculp.". The sheet comes from a collection of the Grand Ducal Museum in Schwerin, which was sold in the 1920s. Publisher: Pierre Mariette (1596-1657). Museum zu Schwerin. The Libyan Sibyl is depicted with a broken chain and laurel branch, in the left background Christ appears to some women with angels. The Libyan Sibyl is one of the ten sibyls distinguished by Lactance according to Varro, a Roman historian of the 1st century BC, each with a geographical epithet. The most famous pictorial representation is probably Michelangelo's Libica in the fresco on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. The print comes from a famous antiquarian bookshop in Munich.
