Rubino himself composed a poem to accompany the work: << Dressed in blue like Prince Charming in the fairy tale, Sapphire leaps out of a deep cavity in the earth, also covered in blue crystals. Almost flying, he enters the dreamland where the towers are blue, the flowers are blue and the jets of the fountains are blue. A blue bird guides him by flying through the air. >> Signed.

After nineteen years at the CdP, a real point of reference in the editorial staff of the newspaper, Rubino decided to leave the Milanese masthead to join the regime newspaper Il Balilla, pushed by a «absolute need to carry out my activity in a less apolitical field and in a more lively and combative way»; Rubino will work at Balilla for only three years, from ´27 to ´29, which makes the tables from this period extremely rare to find. Pin holes in the corners. Signed.

In this case Rubino takes up a famous scene from his animated short film "Nel paese dei ranocchi", produced by INCOM in 1941 and awarded at the 10th Venice International Film Festival in 1942.
