      David Kresz Rubins (1902-1985) standing female nude with pigtails bronze sculpture Signed 'Rubins' on base, and stamped: Modern Art Foundry, N.Y. David Kresz Rubins was born in Minneapolis in 1902. As a young man, he was apprenticed to James Earle Fraser before moving on to study at Dartmouth College and the Beaux-Arts Institute of Design in New York. He then traveled to Europe to study in Paris, where he was awarded the Paris Prize in Sculpture. In 1928, he was awarded the Prix de Rome. He taught at Herron School of Art in Indianapolis and his various works adorn the Indiana State House, the American Museum of Natural History in New York, and the National Archives building in Washington, D.C. 21"H. on 7/8" wood base.
