Shown here is the Egyptian temple complex of Isis on the island of Philae largely dating to the Graceo-Roman period. A UNESCO led conservation program in the 1960s saw the entire temple dismantled and moved to the nearby Agilkia Island to protect it from rising water levels as a result of the Aswan Dam.

Chr.) ließ unter anderem den im Bild dargestellten Obelisk errichten, der die Aufmerksamkeit des Ägypten-Tourismus des 19. Jahrhunderts bereits stark in den Bann zog.
