      § Frank Runacres, ARCA, NEAC (British, 1904-1974) Girl in Venice signed lower right "F Runacres" oil on board h:50 w: 63 cm Frank Runacres studied at St. Martin's School of Art, at the Slade School of Fine Arts, and at the Royal College of Art under Sir William Rothenstein between 1930 and 1933, where he was a contemporary of Edward Bawden and Eric Ravilious. His work is represented in many distinguished private collections, as well as the Tate Gallery and the Manchester City Art Gallery. He exhibited at the Leicester Gallery and the New Marlborough Gallery. He was made an Associate of the Royal College of Arts in 1933 and also taught at the Hornsey College of Art.

On the back the artist has written his address which was Grosvenor House, Westerham (this has been crossed through and replaced with 5 Guilford Street, London, WC2). The painting measures 12.5 x 17.2 inches and is signed and dated 1938.
