Artist Edward Runci was known for his paintings depicting voluptuous women, clowns, and landscapes. He was one of the nation’s original pin-up artists, creating Edward Runci paintings for calendars and advertisements for a wide range of companies, most notably, Coca-Cola.

Runci was born in Italy in 1921, and his family immigrated to the United States in 1930. He had an interest in art from a young age and gained early recognition for his work. After opening his first gallery in the 1940s, he settled in Southern California where portrait paintings by Edward Runci were snapped up by many Hollywood stars.

He created portraits of several prominent figures, including former U.S. Presidential candidate Gerald L.K. Smith.
