      LUIS ANTONIO SANGUINO SPANISH (BARCELONA), B. 1934 AMOROUS COUPLE Marble Signed on the reverse 'Sanguino' Born in Barcelona, the sculptor Luis Antonio Sanguino de Pascual, created hundreds of important works and monuments in Spain, the United States and Mexico. One of his more well known monuments is 'Los Immigrantes,' located in New York City's Battery Park. In the late 1950s, Sanguino became the youngest member ever elected to the National Sculpture Society of New York, and in 1976 was awarded the Medal of Isabel La Catolica by the Spanish King Don Juan Carlos II for his work creating monuments around the country.

Barcelona-born sculptor Luis Antonio Sanguino Pascual has created hundreds of important sculptures and monuments in Spain, Mexico, and the United States, including a number of works in New York City. Perhaps the most well-known of these is his highly emotive monument ''Los Immigrantes'', located in New York's Battery Park. In the late 1950s, Sanguino became the youngest member ever elected to the National Sculpture Society of New York, and in 1976 was awarded the Medal of Isabel La Catolica by the Spanish King Don Juan Carlos II for his work creating monuments around the country.
