Pinaree Sanpitak is a prolific Thai conceptual artist whose artworks reference the female body and womanhood. Working in a diverse range of mediums such as installation, printmaking, drawing, painting and sculptures, her art is a distinct interpretation of the body as a site of experience through organic forms. Executed in delicate textures and cream colours, Quietly Floating Sky Notes #1 exudes a sense of tranquillity. The piece is a meditative interpretation of cloud forms, and emotive response to light and space. Pinaree received her BFA in Visual Arts and Communication Design, School of Fine Arts and Design, University of Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan (1986). She has participated in various biennales including the Jakarta Biennale, the Busan Biennale, the Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, and the Setouchi Triennale. An overview of her work from 1995-2013 was showcased in a solo exhibition, Collection +: Pinaree Sanpitak, at the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation in Sydney, Australia in 2014. Her solo exhibitions include Bodily Space: Confessed and Concealed, Yavuz Gallery, Singapore (2019), Conversation in the Garden, presented by Yavuz Gallery at Art Basel Hong Kong 2015, Hanging by a Thread, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), USA (2013), and Quietly Floating, Tyler Rollins Fine Art, New York, USA (2010).
