This publication, edited by Friedrich Justin Bertuch, was an encyclopaedic textbook for children of the Weimar Classical period. It contained animals, plants, flowers, fruits, minerals, costumes and other objects from the realms of nature, the arts and sciences. Inscribed above the illustration in the printing plate with "Vierf. Animals. X. | Quadruped. X.", signed below the image in the printing plate. The animals are numbered in each case. The illustrated sheet is accompanied by an explanatory sheet which comments on the illustrations in short texts. The explanations are each on one page and are in German and French. The paper is slightly discoloured along the edges. Along the right edge of the sheet there are small damages in the paper. The upper left corner of the sheet was held together by a paper clip, which has left an imprint. Print and colours are in very good condition.
