      Wade Schuman (American, b. 1962), "Study for Central Figure," 1988, pencil on paper, titled and signed with monogram at lower right, inscribed verso as well, measures 10.50 x 11.50 inches to the matt edge, measures 18.50 x 19 inches framed. CONDITION: Good. Wade Schuman has been awarded major scholarships and prizes, including The Mary Post Prize for Painting (Philadelphia), the Award for Excellence from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, three Visual Art Fellowship grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and every possible prize and award from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, where he graduated in 1986. His work has been shown in many publications including The New York Times, the New Yorker, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Art in America, Slate, and The Sciences magazine. Over the past fifteen years, he has taught painting and drawing privately and at various institutions, including the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, and full-time at the New York Academy of Art.
