Schustler 1860' Dimensions: 78.5 x 59 cm Frame: 95.8 x 76.5 cm Good condition Portrait of the German author Mathilde Wesendonck in black dress and with roses in her hair Condition: The painting shows tiny craquelure overall and edges and corners rubbed spots due to the frame. The varnish has darkened and there are overall marks, rubbed spots and small spots with loss of color. Figure and signature had been restored and the varnish renewed. Scattered retouched spots are in the part of the figure and an old one at the upper edge. The frame shows usual signs of age and wear. The dimensions are 78.5 x 59 cm and the frame measures 95.8 x 76.5 cm. Karl Schustler (act.1841-1860) Karl Schustler was an Austrian painter of the 19th century. Schustler exhibited his works in Vienna around 1850, where he worked by this time. The artist primarily painted portraits, landscapes and genre paintings.
