Condition: The sheet is in good condition consistent with the age with little rippling and there are overall handling creases and marks. Two larger creases can be seen close to the right and left edge of the sheet. The lower fight edge bears a small tear. The frame shows signs of wear and a spot with loss of material affecting the upper left edge. The sheet dimensions are 46.5 x 36.8 cm. Johann Joseph Schwachhofer (1772-1828) The Mainz-born Johann Joseph Schwachhofer was a German portrait and history painter. Schwachhofer was a pupil of J. Kuyper in Amsterdam.
